Cali’s Story
Cali was turned into Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society. As a domestic rabbit, she obviously could not stay there and was taken home by a volunteer who previously knew about WRRR. We agreed to take her on and she’s been an amazing little character.
From Cali’s Foster:
“Cali is a sweet, sociable rabbit who thrives on attention and affection. She loves being petted and can snuggle for hours, making her a great companion for someone who can give her plenty of love. Curious by nature, she enjoys exploring her environment, so she'd benefit from at least partial free roam. While not overly food-motivated, Cali enjoys fresh vegetables like lettuce, cilantro, basil, and a bit of kale. She’s not a huge fan of fruit but will nibble on some if offered. Her favourite treats are her bunny snacks! Cali is very clean and always uses her litter box, with no accidents to speak of. She has some adorable quirks, such as softly grunting as she walks around, thumping when she’s either happy or upset, licking her human, and stretching out when being petted. Though she doesn’t enjoy being carried, she can tolerate being picked up when necessary. One of her more cheeky habits includes nipping for attention or to move you out of her way, and she has a bit of a fascination with tugging on high-pile carpets. While she hasn’t had any interaction with other animals yet, her friendly and social nature suggests she would do well with another rabbit.”
